Project Statement:
The initial idea of this project is about the transfer of old cultural center—— Capitol State Building. The Cultural Cross is the symbol of its abstract form.

Through projecting the cultural cross on the site, four main program spaces were divided. The central cross will be public circulation area, which ensure everyone will get access to this cultural and commercial complex.
Based on the division, the performing art center receive its logic via four core systems. Each program has a continuous core system as structure core.
Overall, those four part funtion as gears, which are bound together by people’s activities. In the center, a central staircase also provide visi- tors with natural light from skylights.
